Race Recap

NO CONTEST - KYLE BUSCH WINS

GREEN-WHITE-CHECKERED

CAUTION 9 - Laps 493-501: Joey Logano's engine blows up to bring out the caution. Some of the drivers at the end of the lead lap come into the pits. This will be a scintillating finale between Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin and possibly Jimmie Johnson.

10 LAPS TO GO

CAUTION 8 - Laps 453-459: David Stremme spins out in Turn 3. He wobbled a bit and spun out on his own. AJ Allmendinger gets his lap back courtesy of the Lucky Dog.

Lap 450 - 16 cars are on the lead lap with 50 laps remaining.

CAUTION 7 - Laps 441-449: Kevin Harvick has a blown tire and slams the Turn 4 wall to bring out the caution. This will bring everybody down pit road for the final. Dale Earnhardt Jr. gets the lucky dog again. Kyle Busch comes in as leader and will leave up front.

Lap 438 - Kyle Busch puts Dale Earnhardt Jr. a lap down.

Lap 429 - Kyle Busch puts 17th-place AJ Allmendinger one lap down.

Lap 418 - Kyle Busch is now in heavy traffic, allowing second-place Jimmie Johnson to pull up right behind his bumper.

Lap 406 - Travis Kvapil has been fighting Kyle Busch to stay on the lead lap for a few laps now, allowing second-place Jimmie Johnson to close up on the leader. Busch completes the pass of Kvapil shortly thereafter, but that proved to be a costly pass.

100 LAPS TO GO

Jeff Hammond on Lap 370 (via Twitter): Watch No. 24. He is running steady but he's in a perfect position to pounce.

Lap 369 - NEW RACE LEADER Kyle Busch takes the lead outside

of Turn 2.

Lap 366 - Kyle Busch shoved his teammate out of the way for second a few laps ago and now he is bearing down on Jimmie Johnson for the lead.

Update on Greg Biffle: His team is loading up his car and heading home because of engine issues.

Lap 355 - Race leader Jimmie Johnson is six cars behind Dale Jr. and he is getting ready to put his Hendrick teammate down a lap again.

Jeff Hammond on Lap 343 (via Twitter): Time to find out if Tony Jr. can make a difference for Junior now. If they don't figure this out, they may need to make a change.

Lap 340 - Greg Biffle goes into the pits with an engine related issue.

CAUTION 6 - Laps 320-328: Brian Vickers had a right-rear tire issue and dropped debris on the track, which brought out the caution. Dale Earnhardt Jr. is the Lucky Dog. Leaders pit and Jimmie Johnson takes over the top spot with Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch following right behind.

Lap 318 - NEW RACE LEADER - Denny Hamlin passes Busch on the backstretch.

Lap 312 - Dale Earnhardt Jr. goes a lap down but it is not all smooth sailing for race leader Kyle Busch. Teammate Denny Hamlin is chasing him down and the difference between the two drivers is less than one-tenth of a second.

Lap 312 - David Gilliland smacks the wall in Turn 2, but avoids other cars and the race stays green.

Lap 309 - Jeff Gordon has slipped to ninth.

Lap 292 - Kyle Busch maintains low groove, passes Elliott Sadler underneath through Turns 3 and 4 to put the 20th-place driver one lap down

Lap 280 - Kyle Busch passes former teammate Tony Stewart. Stewart is trying the high line to get a run but Busch is hugging the low groove around corners.

Lap 261 - 21 cars left on the lead lap.

Jeff Hammond on Lap 251 (via Twitter): No. 88 is just holding on. They need to work on that

car. If they don't make it better, he's going to be a lap down.

Interesting battle has developed for third betwen Marcos Ambrose and Denny Hamlin just before halfway. Ambrose bumped Hamlin, then passed him a little later. It'll be interesting to see if Hamlin retaliates at some point today.

LAP 250 - HALFWAY: Top five - Kyle Busch, Jimmie Johnson, Marcos Ambrose, Denny Hamlin and Jeff Gordon.

Kyle Busch puts two-time former Bristol winner Matt Kenseth two laps down on Lap 244.

Race leader Kyle Busch complaining of grip on Lap 210.

Jeff Hammond (via Twitter): No. 24 is making some good lap times. Update from the Hollywood Hotel coming soon.

CAUTION 5 - Laps 189-195: Jamie McMurray spins in Turn 2. Sam Hornish Jr. got into McMurray to spin him out. Leaders pit during the caution. Kyle Busch comes out first to retain the top spot.

Lap 174, 28 cars left on lead lap.

By Lap 160, 11 cars have fallen off the lead lap.

Kyle Busch is running away out front on Lap 150, but the car to watch is David Reutimann back in fourth -- he is strong today.

CAUTION 4 - Laps 124-129: Juan Pablo Montoya and Jamie McMurray had been tussling for a few seconds before Montoya put an end to it by getting into the rear of McMurray's car in Turn 2. McMurray, who was ninth at the time, suffered some minor rear end damage and flat spotted his tires. This is perfect timing for Jimmie Johnson, who hadn't pit all afternoon, as he gets back on sequence with the rest of the field. Kyle Busch comes in first and exits the pits first.

Jeff Hammond on Lap 116 (via Twitter): No. 48 is in some serious danger. When he pits, he'll be down 3 or 4 laps really quick.

Kyle Busch is setting a pretty solid pace and will start lapping big packs of cars shortly.

NEW LEADER: Kyle Busch wrestles the lead away from Jimmie Johnson on Lap 68.

CAUTION 3 - Laps 60-67: Multiple cars damaged after Todd Bodine got crunched into the frontstretch wall by Michael Waltrip. A chain reaction begins and cars that pick up damage include Kevin Harvick, Kurt Busch and a few others. Second-place Marcos Ambrose pits, but leader Jimmie Johnson stays out again -- very interesting strategy on their part. Several of the leaders pit as well. Aric Almirola and Kevin Harvick got busted for speeding on pit road, sending them to the tail end of the longest line.

Kyle Busch is charging to the front on Lap 55, but both Marcos Ambrose and race leader Jimmie Johnson are hanging tough out front.

CAUTION 2 - Laps 33-37: Right after the restart, John Andretti slid up the track and spun out Dave Blaney to bring out the caution. Luckily for Blaney, everybody avoids his spun out car in the turn and he seems to have not picked up significant damage -- but he does go into the garage. Ironically, John Andretti was supposed to get the Lucky Dog award, but he will not get it because he was part of the incident.

CAUTION 1 - Laps 28-32: John Andretti spins out coming off Turn 2 and hits the inside wall to bring out the first caution of the day. Sterlin Marlin is the lucky dog. Leaders

pit during the caution. Mark Martin came out first from the pits, but seven cars stayed out, giving the lead to Jimmie Johnson. Others who stayed out include Dave Blaney, Marcos Ambrose, Todd Bodine, Elliott Sadler and Carl Edwards.

Jimmie Johnson up to second by Lap 16.

They are two-wide and briefly three-wide around the track --- very impressive at this short track.

LEAD CHANGE: Ryan Newman takes over the top spot on Lap 3.

Mark Martin leads the first two laps.

GREEN FLAG!

Dale Earnhardt Jr. will start at the rear of the field this afternoon because of a transmission change.

Engines have been fired up --- get ready to go racing.
